Spanspek Favorite Music of 2014: Emelia Guadarrama

AWWW YEAH!  It's that time once again to take stock of the year in music gone by and make a whole bunch of lists!  But before revealing our own list of favorite music, we thought it'd be fun to bring some of our friends in on the action.  So be on the look out this week for posts from some badass local musicians and writers, followed by our own "Favorites" list later this week!

First up, Emelia Guadarrama, bassist, singer, and pansy pop senshi, for Fresno twee-punk band Sci-Fi Caper!
Records of 2014
Currently in heavy rotation.

After the End (4AD)
Burn Your Fire For No Witness (Jagjaguwar)
This record hit me right in my guts. Favorite tracks go as such: "Leather & Lace", "Honeymoon Phase" and "Fireworks" as well as "Fireworks (Reprise)". It's just consistant and enjoyable all the way through. Definitely my favorite of the year.

All Dogs & Slouch Split

Jeff the Brotherhood
Dig the Classics (Warner Bros.)

Merchandise, Destruction Unit, & Milk Music Split 12" (540 Records)

Joanna Gruesome & Perfect Pussy Split (Fortuna Pop!/Captured Tracks)

Cabin Fire/Love Is A Black Widow Split (Fresno, CA/Birmingham, AL)

If you have yet to see them live, I highly suggest you change that. I never find myself bored of these songs and that is why they are my #1 local pick. Can't wait to see what the Moms will bring in 2015.
