Locals Only: The Regime's New Single " Contorted By Centuries"

Good afternoon folks!  I hope this blog finds you doing well!  We here at Spanspek Headquarters are doing well, busy as usual looking out for fresh new music from the local scene. Today's edition features the new single from Visalia post-hardcore group The Regime!

To put it simply, The Regime's "Contorted by Centuries" roundhouse kicks the listener in the face for a whirlwind two minutes.  The sheer relentlessness of the song is astonishing.  Singer Nathan Garza never lets his vocals descend to more than a throat shredding roar, all while drummer Justin Aguirre beats the living shit out of his kit.  If my writing seems more crude than usual its because this song has destroyed all sense of civility within me.  I don't think I'll ever go back to using napkins again, at least not while this song is blasting its way through my sk…

Locals Only: New Collecto Single "Automatic v.1"

Good afternoon folks!  I write to you from the comfy confines of Spanspek Headquarters with another new track from a local artist!  Today's installment comes from Fresno robotic sensation Collecto!
Fusing the old and the new proves a winning combination for this sorcerer of the sound wave.  Matching aged to perfection drum and voice samples with modern synths, Collecto creates yet another infectious club mix for the late night set.  Siren wails and a persistent cowbell only add to the urgency of a already hard hitting track.  With a full length album set for release in 2013, "Automatic v.1" predicts a future filled with electronic alchemy.

To start it all off, here's the great new single from Fresno super duo Strange Vine!

Strange Vine - "Kitchen Floor"

Beginning with the ominous roll of a Rhodes piano and ending with the syncopated roar of guitar and drums, the new track from Strange Vine introduces listeners to a mother who's lout of a son forces her to seek forgiveness for a desperate act yet done. The ferocity of the song is undeniable, exemplified through the wicked slide guitar of singer Toby Cordova.Whether the mother in the song wins forgiveness is uncertain. But whether you’ll enjoy figuring it out is perfectly clear.
